Back in June 2020, action adventure platformer SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated hit PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms from Purple Lamp Studios and THQ Nordic. SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a remake of the 2003-released game SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom with enhanced visuals, the addition of previously cut content, and more. Check it out on Steam here. Read Shaun’s review of the Nintendo Switch version here. After the June release, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated also hit Stadia last month. Over the weekend, Handy Games announced an iOS and Android release for SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated and it is releasing this month. Watch the trailer for SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated on iOS and Android below:

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated on iOS is a 3GB download and it includes controller support as confirmed by Handy Games on Twitter and mentioned on the App Store page. Hopefully Handy Games can add full controller support to Battle Chasers Nightwar in the future. SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is priced at $8.99 or equivalent and it releases on January 21st for both iOS and Android. Handy Games confirmed that this mobile version doesn’t include multiplayer support but that is the only thing cut. If you’d like to check it out on mobile, you can pre-order SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated on the App Store for iOS here and pre-register on Google Play for Android here. Handy Games confirmed that the footage in the trailer is from the mobile version and that footage makes me glad I didn’t buy it on Nintendo Switch yet going by how Switch gameplay looks. I can’t wait to play this on iPad later in the month. Have you played SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated or the original on any platform yet?
